# Receipt Reel

> Receipt Reel tells a year in review or a launch's numbers as a thermal receipt printing. A strip of thermal paper feeds out of a printer one line per beat, and each stat prints as a receipt line padded to 17 columns. The total lands in a second ink on the music's drop, the strip tears on the teeth, and the camera pulls back to the receipt lying on a counter. Every frame is drawn in code: paper tooth, uneven print density, dot rows, curl, serrated ends and a modelled printer, under window light or a single lamp. All type is one monospace face at the printer's own enlarged sizes. It comes in 9:16 and 1:1, with an original beat-synced soundtrack carrying print-head ticks and a tear.

## What you need

- Node.js 22 or newer, and FFmpeg (with `ffprobe`) on the PATH. FFmpeg checks and muxes the music.
- Google Chrome or the headless Chrome HyperFrames downloads. HyperFrames runs through `npx`, pinned to the version this template was tested with: `npx --yes hyperframes@0.8.192`. If `render` says Chrome is missing, run `npx --yes hyperframes@0.8.192 browser ensure` once. The layout gate uses the same Chrome; set `CHROMIUM_PATH` if it can't find one.
- Network access to `fonts.googleapis.com` (IBM Plex Mono) and `cdn.jsdelivr.net` (GSAP). See Troubleshooting if either is blocked.

## Install

The first run prints a sign-in link; open it, approve, and run the command again. Pro skills install for accounts that bought them or have Pro.

Where it installs:

- Run by Claude Code: `~/.claude/skills/receipt-tally-reel` only, the one folder Claude Code reads.
- From your own terminal: `~/.agents/skills/receipt-tally-reel`, which Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI, Cursor and OpenCode read, and also `~/.claude/skills/receipt-tally-reel` when `~/.claude` exists.

Add `--claude` or `--shared` to write only one of those folders, or `--project` to install into the current folder instead. Start a new agent session afterwards so it picks up the skill.
