The short answer
- Install with
curl -fsSL https://lookbk.dev/cli.js | node - add <skill>. List what you have withlist --installed. - Update by running
addagain. Remove by deleting the skill’s folder. - Run a skill by name with
/<skill>in Claude Code,$<skill>in Codex, or/in Cursor and VS Code.
Installer commands
Every command runs the installer straight from lookbk.dev. Nothing is added to your PATH.
installdoes the same asadd.addsigns you in first when needed, andlistworks without signing in.list --installed --projectchecks the current folder instead of your home folder.- There is no update or remove command. See Update, roll back and remove skills.
- Run it with no command for a short help text.
The sign-in link opens lookbk.dev/connect. Check the code on the page matches the one printed, then choose Approve. Codes last 10 minutes. The sign-in is saved in ~/.config/lookbook/auth.json, or under $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/lookbook when that is set, readable only by you. If it has expired, the next add asks you to sign in again.
Where the installer writes
Where each agent looks
Cursor also reads .claude/skills and .codex/skills, and Copilot in VS Code also reads ~/.claude/skills. Cloud agents don’t read your home folder. Where skills live explains which copy wins.
Run a skill
Every agent here also picks a skill by itself when your request matches its description. Every Lookbk description ends with the requests it is for, after “Use when” or “Use for”.

Inside a Lookbk skill
What the skills need
- Node.js for the installer, version 20 or newer. Most skills need Node.js 18 or newer, and the ten HyperFrames video skills need 22 or newer.
- Chrome, Chromium or Edge for most checks, screenshots and exports. Set
CHROME_PATHif the scripts can’t find it. - FFmpeg for anything that writes video. Set
FFMPEG_PATHif it isn’t on yourPATH. - Internet access for fonts and some libraries, unless the skill’s Troubleshooting section gives offline steps.
Each SKILL.md lists its exact needs under “What you need”.
Common questions
- Why is there no update command?
- The installer replaces a skill’s folder with the current version each time you run
add, so running it again is the update. - Which agents read
~/.agents/skills? - Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode. Claude Code’s docs list
~/.claude/skills, which Cursor, OpenCode and VS Code also read. - Where do I see which skills I installed?
- Run the installer with
list --installed, or ask your agent to list its skills.

All guidesWhere skills live: folders for every agent
The folders Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents read skills from, which copy wins when two share a name, and what cloud agents can see.
Skill not working? Find your symptom
Fix a Lookbk skill by what you see: the agent can’t find it, it won’t trigger, the wrong skill runs, output looks off, a render fails or install stops.
Update, roll back and remove skills
Update an installed skill, go back to the version you had, and remove or switch off a skill in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI or OpenCode.
See a skill’s result before you install it.
Every skill page shows what it makes, what it needs and which agents can run it.
