The short answer
- To update, run the install command again. It replaces the skill’s whole folder with the current version.
- Lookbk installs the current version only, so copy the folder somewhere safe before you update. That copy is how you roll back.
- To remove a skill, delete its folder. To keep it but stop it running, switch it off in your agent.
Update a skill
There is no separate update command. Running add again deletes the skill’s folder and writes the current version, then prints the version it installed. Run it once for each way you installed the skill: once for your home folder, and once with --project for each repository.
Step 1: See which version you have
The skill’s page shows its current version and the date it was last updated. The version on disk is in the license file the download carries.
TerminalStep 2: Copy the folder aside
Do this first if you might want the old version back. See the next section.
Step 3: Run the installer again
TerminalStep 4: Start a new agent session
The installer reminds you to. Agents that watch their skills folders may pick the change up sooner, but a fresh session is the sure way.
A single-skill purchase includes updates for 12 months. Pro includes updates while your plan is active. Founding Lifetime covers every current and future Pro skill. Copies you already downloaded stay licensed to you if a plan ends, but new downloads and updates stop.
Roll back to the version you had
Lookbk installs the current version of a skill and keeps no older ones to install, so a roll back needs a copy you made. Put it outside every skills folder. Agents read all the folders on their list, so a copy left inside one can load as a second skill with the same name.
- The same works for
~/.claude/skills, and for the.agents/skillsand.claude/skillsfolders in a project. - A ZIP you downloaded is a backup too. A single-skill purchase is a permanent license to the version you download, so keep the ZIP of a version you like.
- If you committed the skill to a repository,
git diffshows what an update changed andgit restoreputs back any file you want.
Remove a skill
Delete the skill’s folder from each place it lives. Nothing else is installed on your computer.
Keep it, but switch it off
To stop a skill running without deleting it, switch it off in your agent. You keep the files and can switch it back on.
To sign out of Lookbk on this computer, run the installer with logout. It ends the session on the server and deletes the saved sign-in.
Common questions
- Will updating delete my files?
- Yes, any you put inside the skill’s own folder, because the installer deletes that folder first. Files in your project folder are untouched.
- How do I know a newer version exists?
- The skill’s page shows its current version and the date it was last updated. Compare that with the version in
.lookbook/license.jsonin your copy. - What happens to my skills if my Pro plan ends?
- Copies you downloaded while subscribed stay licensed to you. New downloads and updates stop.

A skill is instructions and code your agent may run. Six checks to make first: its source, its commands, its network use and what it may do without asking.
