The installer writes ~/.agents/skills/ and ~/.claude/skills. Hermes Agent’s docs list neither as a skills folder, so it would not see the skill.
What are Hermes Agent skills?
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file: a name, a description and the steps to follow, plus any scripts or templates the job needs. Skills are on-demand knowledge documents the agent loads when needed, using progressive disclosure to save tokens.
Lookbook skills are built this way. Each one turns a request such as “make a launch film” or “build a landing page” into steps Hermes Agent can follow, and ships the files they need. You put one in ~/.hermes/skills/ and Hermes Agent can use it.

Where does Hermes Agent keep its skills?
Hermes Agent’s docs name ~/.hermes/skills/ for every project, and .hermes/skills/ or .agents/skills/ inside one project.
How do I add a Lookbook skill to Hermes Agent?
Download the ZIP from the skill’s page and unzip it into ~/.hermes/skills/. The Lookbook installer writes ~/.agents/skills/ and ~/.claude/skills, which Hermes Agent’s docs do not list.
Does Hermes Agent read the same skill folders as other agents?
Hermes Agent reads ~/.hermes/skills/. Its docs do not list ~/.agents/skills/, so a skill in that shared folder is not seen.
Can Hermes use skills I keep in ~/.agents/skills?
Yes, once you list that folder under skills.external_dirs in ~/.hermes/config.yaml. It is not read by default.
Have Lookbook’s skills been tested in Hermes Agent?
Lookbook has not recorded a run in Hermes Agent. The skills follow the open SKILL.md format, which Hermes Agent’s docs say it reads. Whether a skill’s own scripts run depends on the tools on your machine, listed on each skill page under What you need.
