What are goose skills?
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file: a name, a description and the steps to follow, plus any scripts or templates the job needs. When a session starts, goose adds each skill’s name and description to its instructions, and loads the full instructions when it needs them.
Lookbk skills are built this way. Each one turns a request such as “make a launch film” or “build a landing page” into steps goose can follow, and ships the files they need. You put one in ~/.agents/skills/ and goose can use it.

Ask: “Build a Frosted Glass hero for our site with our logo, colors and headline, and record a 1080p video of it for the launch post.”
goose skills vs .goosehints
Both shape what goose does. This is how goose’s own docs set them apart.
| Topic | A skill | .goosehints |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Task-specific know-how | General preferences, project context and repeated instructions, such as always using TypeScript |
| Loads | Name and description at session start, full instructions when needed | Added to the system prompt for every request |

Questions about goose skills
Where does goose keep its skills?
goose’s docs name ~/.agents/skills/ for every project, and .agents/skills/ inside one project.
How do I add a Lookbk skill to goose?
Paste the connect prompt into goose, approve the sign-in once, then ask for a skill by name. Or download the ZIP from the skill’s page and unzip it into ~/.agents/skills/.
Does goose read the same skill folders as other agents?
goose’s docs list ~/.agents/skills/, which 16 other agents on Lookbk also list: Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, OpenClaw and 10 more. A skill there is one copy for all of them.
Does goose list its skills?
Yes. goose skills list shows what goose found.
Have Lookbk’s skills been tested in goose?
Lookbk has not recorded a run in goose. The skills follow the open SKILL.md format, which goose’s docs say it reads. Whether a skill’s own scripts run depends on the tools on your machine, listed on each skill page under What you need.
The facts about goose come from its own documentation. Read it here.
Skills for every agent you use
The same SKILL.md folder reaches every agent below that reads it. Each page shows where that agent looks.
