Skills for Trae
97 skills
Every Lookbk skill is a plain SKILL.md folder, the format Trae’s docs describe. Lookbk has not recorded a run in Trae, so check a skill’s own requirements on its page.
How to install a skill in Trae
Where the skill lives
A skill is one folder with a SKILL.md inside. Trae reads the folders below, as its own docs describe them.
- Every project
~/.trae/skills/- One project
.trae/skills/
Where the skill lives
- ~/.trae/skills/
- kinetic-title-drop/
- SKILL.md
- scripts/
- template/
- your-project/
- .trae/skills/
- kinetic-title-drop/
- SKILL.md
- scripts/
- template/
- The international edition and Trae CN use different user folders: ~/.trae/skills and ~/.trae-cn/skills. Source
- Trae also reads .agents/skills in a project, but only after you switch it on in Settings > Skills & Commands. If a skill has the same name in both folders, the .trae one wins. Source
- You can also create or import a skill from Settings > Skills & Commands, uploading a SKILL.md or a .zip. Source
Install routes
Pick one. Lookbk has not recorded a run in Trae, so each route is marked by what Trae’s docs say it reads.
- Recommended
Download the ZIP
- 1Open a skill’s page and choose Download ZIP.
- 2Unzip it into the folder below.
- 3Ask Trae to use the skill.
~/.trae/skills/ - Also works
Install in one project
- 1Open the project’s folder in a terminal or file manager.
- 2Unzip the skill into the folder below, inside the project.
- 3Open the project in Trae.
.trae/skills/ - Not yet
Paste the install prompt
The installer writes ~/.agents/skills/ and ~/.claude/skills. Trae’s docs list neither as a skills folder, so it would not see the skill.
What are Trae skills?
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file: a name, a description and the steps to follow, plus any scripts or templates the job needs. The agent does not read every skill in full at the start. It scans the short descriptions, and loads a skill’s details only when the task needs it.
Lookbk skills are built this way. Each one turns a request such as “make a launch film” or “build a landing page” into steps Trae can follow, and ships the files they need. You put one in ~/.trae/skills/ and Trae can use it.

Ask: “Build a Frosted Glass hero for our site with our logo, colors and headline, and record a 1080p video of it for the launch post.”
Trae skills vs Rules
Both shape what Trae does. This is how Trae’s own docs set them apart.
| Topic | A skill | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Loads | On demand, only when called | In full: once a chat starts, all rules are injected and keep using the context window |
| Lives in | .trae/skills/ or ~/.trae/skills/ | .trae/rules/ in the project, or user rules at ~/.trae/user_rules |

Questions about Trae skills
Where does Trae keep its skills?
Trae’s docs name ~/.trae/skills/ for every project, and .trae/skills/ inside one project.
How do I add a Lookbk skill to Trae?
Download the ZIP from the skill’s page and unzip it into ~/.trae/skills/. The Lookbk installer writes ~/.agents/skills/ and ~/.claude/skills, which Trae’s docs do not list.
Does Trae read the same skill folders as other agents?
Trae reads ~/.trae/skills/. Its docs do not list ~/.agents/skills/, so a skill in that shared folder is not seen.
I use Trae CN. Which folder do I use?
Trae CN’s own docs name ~/.trae-cn/skills for your user skills (on Windows, %userprofile%/.trae-cn/skills). The project folder is the same, .trae/skills.
Does the Trae CLI read the same folder?
The docs give no skills folder for the Trae CLI, so this page covers the IDE only.
Have Lookbk’s skills been tested in Trae?
Lookbk has not recorded a run in Trae. The skills follow the open SKILL.md format, which Trae’s docs say it reads. Whether a skill’s own scripts run depends on the tools on your machine, listed on each skill page under What you need.
The facts about Trae come from its own documentation. Read it here.
Skills for every agent you use
The same SKILL.md folder reaches every agent below that reads it. Each page shows where that agent looks.
