What are Junie skills?
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file: a name, a description and the steps to follow, plus any scripts or templates the job needs. Junie knows each skill’s name and description, but does not read a skill’s full content until it decides it is relevant.
Lookbk skills are built this way. Each one turns a request such as “make a launch film” or “build a landing page” into steps Junie can follow, and ships the files they need. You put one in ~/.junie/skills/ and Junie can use it.

Junie skills vs Guidelines (AGENTS.md)
Both shape what Junie does. This is how Junie’s own docs set them apart.
| Topic | A skill | Guidelines (AGENTS.md) |
|---|---|---|
| Loads | Only when a skill matches the task at hand | Applied with every prompt |
| Lives in | .junie/skills/<name>/ or ~/.junie/skills/<name>/ | AGENTS.md in the project root, or ~/.junie/AGENTS.md |

Questions about Junie skills
Where does Junie keep its skills?
Junie’s docs name ~/.junie/skills/ or ~/.agents/skills/ for every project, and .junie/skills/ or .agents/skills/ inside one project.
How do I add a Lookbk skill to Junie?
Paste the connect prompt into Junie, approve the sign-in once, then ask for a skill by name. Or download the ZIP from the skill’s page and unzip it into ~/.junie/skills/.
Does Junie read the same skill folders as other agents?
Junie’s docs list ~/.agents/skills/, which 16 other agents on Lookbk also list: Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, OpenClaw and 10 more. A skill there is one copy for all of them.
Do skills work in the JetBrains IDE plugin?
The docs say they do, but they describe folders and commands only for Junie CLI. Check the page for your IDE version.
Have Lookbk’s skills been tested in Junie?
Lookbk has not recorded a run in Junie. The skills follow the open SKILL.md format, which Junie’s docs say it reads. Whether a skill’s own scripts run depends on the tools on your machine, listed on each skill page under What you need.
The facts about Junie come from its own documentation. Read it here.
Skills for every agent you use
The same SKILL.md folder reaches every agent below that reads it. Each page shows where that agent looks.
