What are Kimi Code skills?

A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file: a name, a description and the steps to follow, plus any scripts or templates the job needs. The model can also invoke a skill on its own, based on its description, unless automatic invocation is turned off for that skill.

Lookbk skills are built this way. Each one turns a request such as “make a launch film” or “build a landing page” into steps Kimi Code can follow, and ships the files they need. You put one in ~/.kimi-code/skills/ and Kimi Code can use it.

Does Kimi Code read the same skill folders as other agents?

Kimi Code’s docs list ~/.agents/skills/, which 16 other agents on Lookbk also list: Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, OpenClaw and 10 more. A skill there is one copy for all of them.
