Connect Zed
Connect to Lookbk so you can install agent skills for me. Run: curl -fsSL https://lookbk.dev/cli.js | node - login It prints a link and a code. Show them to me, and when I say I approved it, run the same command again. Then run: curl -fsSL https://lookbk.dev/cli.js | node - whoami

How to install a skill in Zed
Where the skill lives
A skill is one folder with a SKILL.md inside. Zed reads the folders below, as its own docs describe them.
- Every project
~/.agents/skills/- One project
.agents/skills/
Where the skill lives
- ~/.agents/skills/
- kinetic-title-drop/
- SKILL.md
- scripts/
- template/
- your-project/

- Skills belong to the Zed Agent only. External agents and Terminal Threads use their own skill systems. Source
- Only ~/.agents/skills and the project’s .agents/skills are searched. There are no custom search paths, and each skill must sit directly inside that folder. Source
- Project skills load only from trusted worktrees. Source
Install routes
Pick one. Lookbk has not recorded a run in Zed, so each route is marked by what Zed’s docs say it reads.
- Also works
Paste the install prompt
- 1Copy the prompt and paste it into Zed.
- 2Approve the sign-in in your browser, the first time only.
- 3Ask Zed to install any skill by name.
Run from Zed, the installer writes ~/.agents/skills/, a folder Zed’s docs list. Lookbk has not recorded a run in Zed.
- Recommended
Download the ZIP
- 1Open a skill’s page and choose Download ZIP.
- 2Unzip it into the folder below.
- 3Ask Zed to use the skill.
~/.agents/skills/ - Also works
Install in one project
- 1Open the project’s folder in a terminal or file manager.
- 2Unzip the skill into the folder below, inside the project.
- 3Open the project in Zed.
.agents/skills/
What are Zed skills?
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file: a name, a description and the steps to follow, plus any scripts or templates the job needs. The agent sees a catalog of every installed skill, name and description, in its system prompt, and calls the skill tool when a task matches.
Lookbk skills are built this way. Each one turns a request such as “make a launch film” or “build a landing page” into steps Zed can follow, and ships the files they need. You put one in ~/.agents/skills/ and Zed can use it.

Ask: “Read https://relay.example, then make a 65-second Porcelain launch film for our public beta. Capture our real screens and end on the signup URL.”
- Swiss Grid DeckClaude CodeCodexCursor+3 more agents
Ask: “Turn notes.md into a 12-slide Swiss Grid deck for our board meeting, with speaker notes, and export PDF and PPTX.”
- Frosted Glass HeroClaude CodeCodexCursor+3 more agents
Ask: “Build a Frosted Glass hero for our site with our logo, colors and headline, and record a 1080p video of it for the launch post.”
Zed skills vs Instructions (AGENTS.md)
Both shape what Zed does. This is how Zed’s own docs set them apart.
| Topic | A skill | Instructions (AGENTS.md) |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Reusable task workflows, such as a code review checklist or a release workflow | Always-on guidance, such as repository conventions and project constraints |
| Loads | Invoked by name or picked up by the agent | Always on |
Questions about Zed skills
Where does Zed keep its skills?
Zed’s docs name ~/.agents/skills/ for every project, and .agents/skills/ inside one project.
How do I add a Lookbk skill to Zed?
Paste the connect prompt into Zed, approve the sign-in once, then ask for a skill by name. Or download the ZIP from the skill’s page and unzip it into ~/.agents/skills/.
Does Zed read the same skill folders as other agents?
Zed’s docs list ~/.agents/skills/, which 16 other agents on Lookbk also list: Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, OpenClaw and 10 more. A skill there is one copy for all of them.
Do skills work with the external agents I run inside Zed?
No. The docs say skills belong to the Zed Agent only. External agents such as Claude and Codex use their own systems.
Have Lookbk’s skills been tested in Zed?
Lookbk has not recorded a run in Zed. The skills follow the open SKILL.md format, which Zed’s docs say it reads. Whether a skill’s own scripts run depends on the tools on your machine, listed on each skill page under What you need.
The facts about Zed come from its own documentation. Read it here.
Skills for every agent you use
The same SKILL.md folder reaches every agent below that reads it. Each page shows where that agent looks.
