What you get

  • A self-contained HTML page and a paste-in embed
  • A turntable with 10 to 18 boards drawn in code: risograph prints or cloth covers with metal foil
  • The headline as the axle: far boards behind it, near boards in front of its foot, their shadows on the letters
  • Slot-by-slot indexing with rocking boards, plus drag, coast and settle
  • A phone layout where the upright word stands on the hub
  • Checks at 4 widths and a 1080p video that loops on one whole turn
  • Open-source licenses for every part it builds on

Good fit

  • A print studio, publisher or bindery that wants its body of work turning around its name.
  • A product range or record label that wants visitors to spin through the work and pick one up.
  • A brand that wants real material and light in its hero instead of flat cards on a ring.

Not for

  • Showing photographs or video clips on the boards
  • A gallery with clickable items or a lightbox
  • Long headlines across the full width
  • Sites that must work without WebGL beyond a still picture

About this skill

A turntable stands on the headline's axis: a thick disc with a slotted groove, a clamp at every slot, a hub and a fixed index pointer, carrying a ring of 14 boards with real fronts, backs and edges. The far half passes behind the letters, showing plain pencil-marked backs; the near half passes in front of their foot and throws shadows on them. Boards are risograph prints drawn in code, with a coloured core on the cut edge, or cloth covers whose foil flares in a warm spot. The disc rests on a board, moves on one slot and the boards rock in their slots; a whole turn loops in 28 seconds. Visitors can drag it round, let it coast and settle. On phones the headline stands on the hub like a post.

FAQ

Can I put my own photographs on the boards?

No. The boards carry work drawn in code: risograph prints in your spot inks, or cloth covers with your titles stamped in foil. Colours, inks, cloths, titles and the board core all come from hero.json.

Will the boards hide my headline?

Only a little and only at its foot. The camera is solved from the layout so the nearest boards rise over the letters by a set share of the capitals; at every rest the examples lose at most 28% of any letter.

How long is the loop?

One whole turn: the number of boards times the seconds per slot, 28 seconds with the defaults of 14 boards and 2 seconds. Record that many seconds and the last frame meets the first.

Which agents is Cylinder Carousel written for?

Any agent that reads SKILL.md folders, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode.

Do I own what I make with it?

Yes. Everything your agent makes with this skill is yours, including for client and commercial work.
