36-second example rendered by this skill from examples/gale · 1280×720
What you get
- A 36 s MP4 at 1080p or 4K in eight scenes, every cut on the beat, with camera whips and depth blur between them
- Your command typed with a human rhythm, with spinners, a progress bar and output lines from your brief
- A code diff with syntax colours for TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Go, Rust, JSON, YAML, TOML or shell
- An API request and response with your status code and a latency that counts up to your number
- An original synthwave soundtrack written by code, with a click on every key, free to use
- Dark and light themes in your brand color, and two made-up example films to start from
- Open-source licenses for every part it builds on
Good fit
- CLIs, SDKs, hosting, database and queue products can show the command their users really run, with its real output, instead of a marketing mock-up.
- Dev tool teams launching on X or Hacker News get a 36 second film with music from one brief, in their brand color.
- Products that live in a browser, an editor and an API can show all three in one film, with a diff that types in.
Not for
- Consumer apps without a command line (see Launch Film: Porcelain)
- Films longer than 36 seconds or with more than one command
- Vertical or square social cuts (16:9 only)
About this skill
A 36-second launch film for developer tools, CLIs, SDKs and APIs. Your real command types out in a crisp terminal and prints its output, the URL in the last line opens into a browser with your product, a code diff types in, an API request returns with its status and latency, three big facts whip in on the beat, each with the panel that proves it, and it ends on your install command with a copy click. Dark or light theme, in your brand color, with its own synthwave soundtrack and a key click on every typed character.
Example request
Make a Terminal Launch Film for our CLI at https://gale.example: run "gale deploy --prod" with its real output, show the deployed site, the config diff, the deployments API and end on "npm i -g @gale/cli".
How it works
Your agent
- 1
Ask three things
What is being launched (1.0, a new CLI, a public beta)?
- 2
Read the product
It prints the page's title, description, headings, calls to action, colours and fonts, saves them to
site.jsonand saveslogo.svgwhen the header has an inline SVG logo. - 3
Write the brief
Start from
examples/gale/brief.json(dark) orexamples/tideline/brief.json(light). - 4
Make the film
It copies the template into
my-film/, applies the brief (which works out when every key is pressed), writessoundtrack.wavon those same times, applies the brief again with the track and rendersmy-film/renders/<name>-1080p.mp4. - 5
Check before you hand it over
Look at the sheet.

What you need
- Node.js 22 or newer and FFmpeg (with
ffprobe) on the PATH. - HyperFrames runs through
npx, pinned to the version this template was tested with:npx --yes hyperframes@0.8.192. The first render downloads a headless Chrome of its own. Ifrendersays Chrome is missing, runnpx --yes hyperframes@0.8.192 browser ensureonce. - Network access to
fonts.googleapis.com(Inter Tight and JetBrains Mono) andcdn.jsdelivr.net(GSAP). See Troubleshooting if either is blocked. - Chrome, Chromium or Edge for
capture.mjs, if you want to read the product's site or take its screenshot. SetCHROME_PATHif it isn't in the usual place. - Music is generated by
scripts/music.mjs. You can bring your own licensed track instead.

If something goes wrong
apply-brief lists problems.
Each line names the field and its limit. The limits keep every line on one line at the film's type sizes.
The render stops with "Chrome is missing".
Run
npx --yes hyperframes@0.8.192 browser ensureonce, then render again.Plain fonts, or the render stops before the first frame.
The render could not reach
fonts.googleapis.comorcdn.jsdelivr.net. Allow them, or setGSAP_FILEto a localgsap.min.js3.14.2 (npm pack gsap@3.14.2).

Do I have to animate anything?
No. The eight scenes are fixed and timed to a 120 BPM cue sheet. You write a brief with your command and its output, a result screenshot, a diff of up to 13 lines, one API request and response, three short facts (each shown with the panel that proves it) and an install command, and make-film.mjs renders the MP4.
Where does the music come from?
music.mjs writes it: a 36 second synthwave track with pads, an arpeggio, bass and drums, plus a click on every typed key, a blip for every printed line and a chime when a spinner resolves, all on the same cue sheet as the picture. It is generated by code in the package, so you may use it anywhere. You can pass your own licensed track in the brief instead.
Which languages does the code scene color?
TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Go, Rust, JSON, YAML, TOML and shell. The request and response panels are colored as JSON. Each code line is up to 56 characters, with 1 to 7 added lines, so the diff finishes typing on the beat.
Which agents is Terminal Launch Film written for?
Any agent that reads SKILL.md folders, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode.
Do I own what I make with it?
Yes. Everything your agent makes with this skill is yours, including for client and commercial work.

Credits and licensesBuilt on heygen-com/hyperframes
What Lookbk adds on top of heygen-com/hyperframes (Apache-2.0): Lookbk made this package from scratch: the eight-scene choreography, the terminal, editor and API panels, the typing timer, the syntax colourer and the synthwave music generator were written for it on HyperFrames.
